Appeals Court Upholds Block on Travel Ban

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a judge’s ruling blocking President Trump’s ban on travel from six Muslim-majority countries.

The following is a statement from Cathleen Farrell, Communications Director at the National Immigration Forum:

“Multiple courts have agreed that there is no place under our laws for discriminatory travel bans.

“Our safety and security are paramount, and banning travel from certain countries is not the way to achieve them. Congress and the administration must prioritize threats to public safety. While acknowledging that fear is real, we must remain true to our values and to our Constitution.”
