Opportunities, Skills and Status for New Americans

The National Immigration Forum believes that for America to succeed, New Americans must have the opportunities, skills and status to reach their fullest potential.

Irrefutable demographic changes driven by immigration to the U.S. will influence politics, policy and fundamentally, people. America’s march toward diversity and connectedness will be increasingly global. How we value immigrants and immigration to the nation will determine the strength of our social fabric and the competitiveness of our economy.

In order to drive the biggest economic, social and cultural opportunities of our time, we will work with our partners across the country to address the full range of issues surrounding immigrant integration. Our policy priorities in this area will include reducing barriers to naturalization, ensuring immigrants are able to learn English, and fostering effective workforce development.
