Washington, D.C. — As the results of the election become clear, Jennie Murray, President and CEO of the Forum, offers the following statement:
“Voters’ desire for accountability and change, including on immigration policy, is clear. Immigration solutions will help address affordability, voters’ No. 1 concern.
“Democrats and Republicans must work together on the fair, firm and compassionate immigration solution that large majorities of all voters want. We’re tired of wild pendulum swings — it’s time to rebuild the center on immigration.
“The president has expressed openness to working with Democrats, and that’s a good start. We encourage legislators to work together across the aisle, and with the administration, to seize the urgency and deliver immigration solutions that protect Americans and immigrants and allow all of us to thrive.”
