Faith, Law Enforcement, Business Leaders to be Honored for Valuing Immigrants

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Tonight the National Immigration Forum will present awards to four faith, law enforcement and business leaders for the ways they promote the value of immigrants and immigration to our nation.

This year’s Keepers of the American Dream awards will be presented to the following honorees:

  • Chobani
  • Jo Anne Lyon, Ambassador, General Superintendent Emerita, The Wesleyan Church
  • Chief Art Acevedo, Houston Police Department; Co-Chair, Law Enforcement Immigration Task Force
  • Chief J. Thomas Manger, Chief of Police, Montgomery County, Maryland; Co-Chair, Law Enforcement Immigration Task Force

“Our honorees recognize the importance of immigrants to our churches, to community safety and to a healthy economy for American workers,” said Ali Noorani, Executive Director of the National Immigration Forum. “We’re proud to honor them for the different yet complementary ways in which they support immigrants in their communities.”
