WASHINGTON, D.C. —Multiple bipartisan solutions that would protect Dreamers and enhance our safety and security are on the table in the Senate.
“Bipartisan proposals from Senators Gardner and Bennet, McCain and Coons, and Rounds are strong and worthy of senators’ support,” said Ali Noorani, Executive Director of the National Immigration Forum. “We need senators to lead and vote for these reasonable proposals. Each of them would protect Dreamers and address our border security.
“If Congress cannot agree on a solution, many more thousands of Dreamers will face the possibility of losing their work permits and being subject to deportation. Senator McConnell, Speaker Ryan and President Trump should seize the opportunity to score a big win, not steer members of both parties toward failure. On their current path, Republican leadership is poised to snatch defeat from the jaws of a historic victory.”
