Ten years ago, the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program opened new opportunities for many undocumented immigrants who were brought to the U.S. as children, protecting them from deportation and allowing them to legally work and study in this country. DACA recipients have become vital members of our communities and economy, paying billions of dollars in state and local taxes, wielding tremendous spending power, and meeting the nation’s most critical needs through their work in essential jobs.
