First 100 Days: Trump Administration Roils Immigration

WASHINGTON D.C. —The second Trump administration has undertaken “a profound transformation of U.S. immigration policy,” according to a newly posted Forum paper summarizing the administration’s first 100 days.

Key immigration actions and their impacts in 10 specific areas, from aggressive enforcement to challenging longstanding citizenship policies, are the focus of the paper.

“The administration is going beyond what Americans, including Republican voters, wanted on immigration,” said Jennie Murray, President and CEO of the National Immigration Forum.

“The administration has widespread support to focus immigration enforcement on threats to public safety. It has gone much further. It also has degraded family unity, respect for human dignity, and protection for longtime community members, which Americans continue to prioritize alongside safety and security.”

The Forum has launched a “Security and … ” campaign to emphasize that we can talk about security and immigration without compromising other American values. Register here for future webinars
